Scope

This policy sets out, for cmmcalibrationminneapolis.com, what a submitted request carries with it, how that information is used, and the commercial arrangement a request is handled under. Both this website and the requests made through it are covered by it.

The Arrangement Behind This Site

The arrangement is stated first, so that nothing below is read out of context. cmmcalibrationminneapolis.com is a marketing and referral website operated by Minneapolis CMM Calibration and Repair, it is not a calibration laboratory, and no CMM Calibration and Repair work is carried out by the operator of this site.

External laboratories receive the requests submitted here. Each holds its own accreditation, works to its own quality management system, and issues its own certificates and reports in its own name. Which laboratory receives a request is settled on evidence of current accreditation and scope, on capability demonstrated for the measurement being requested, and on record of delivery.

That introduction is paid for: the operator of this website receives a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed. The price you are quoted is unaffected, and the payment gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. The terms of service state it again in the same terms, so the commercial relationship behind this site is on the record and not left to inference.

Categories of Information

Each request carries the detail a quotation is built from — name, company, email address and telephone number, together with the item, the quantity, the measurement points, the tolerances, the standard required and the turnaround needed. That is the first category, and it is supplied by you.

The second is collected by the server rather than typed by anyone: IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, and the pages viewed on this site. It is the ordinary technical record of a visit.

What is not collected here is payment card detail, in any form.

Why It Is Held

Why information is held comes down to three things for request detail — reviewing it, obtaining a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and corresponding about it — and two for the technical record: keeping the site available and secure, and watching page usage.

Selling any of it is not something this site does. Nor is renting it out, trading it away, or handing it to a third party to market from.

Who Sees It

The laboratory asked to quote or perform the work is the principal recipient, and it receives the detail the work requires. Behind the site itself sit the hosting, email and analytics providers; they receive what their service requires, act on instructions, and are not permitted to use the information for their own purposes.

Disclosure required by law is made when it is required. Any accreditation body exercising a right of access to the records of a performing laboratory is given that access.

Confidentiality of Technical Detail

Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results supplied with a request are treated as confidential, on the same basis as the confidentiality obligations that apply to accredited laboratory work. They are made available only to those who need them to prepare a quotation or complete the work.

Where the law requires information to be disclosed, you are notified that the disclosure has been made, unless notifying you is itself prohibited.

Cookies

This site sets only the cookies required for it to function, plus — where analytics is enabled — aggregate counts of visits. Most browsers let you block them; doing so does not prevent use of this site, but a form submitted afterward may not be recorded correctly.

Retention Periods

Inquiry records are retained for as long as they are needed to answer the request and to meet accounting and record-keeping obligations, and are then deleted or stripped of identifying detail. Records held by a laboratory that performed work are retained under that laboratory's own records policy.

Requests and Choices

Ask, through the contact page, and you will be told what information is held about you; ask and it will be corrected; ask and it will be deleted. Thirty days is the answering period. Every marketing email sent carries an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.

Changes and Governing Law

This statement is revised from time to time. Whatever is published at cmmcalibrationminneapolis.com is the version in force. The governing law is that of Minnesota.
